What are Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash Extensions are single synthetic eyelashes which are applied directly, one by one, onto the natural eyelash with a specially formulated bonding agent to lengthen, thicken & darken your own natural eyelashes, giving a natural, beautiful yet glamorous look.

How long will my Eyelash Extensions last?
Although your extensions will fall out with your natural lashes, Lash Perfect extensions are designed to stay full for up to three weeks after which you’ll either need a top up session and when cared for and with this regular maintenance, can last up to 12 weeks. To maintain the fullness of the lashes and to keep their perfect appearance, we do recommend that they are retouched every two-three weeks. Any longer than this will result in a full new set being needing to be applied or you’ll have to use the oil free mascara to achieve the same voluminous look.

How long does it take to have them applied?
To have a full set of eyelash extensions applied by an experienced technician shall take up to 2 hours and for infills this is much less depending on how many need replacing but normally between 30 mins - 1hour.

Is the procedure uncomfortable?
Not at all! Lash Perfect lashes are for professional application only and the application procedure is very comfortable and relaxing as well as having them removed. The eyelash adhesive dries very soft on the lashes allowing flexibility and comfort. You shall lay down on a leather beauty couch then your lash technician will apply an under eye gel pad to cover your lower lashes. The extensions will then be applied to each individual eyelash with a special adhesive.

Will the lash extensions harm my natural eyelashes?
No. If applied correctly by a good lash professional then the lash extensions are designed to fall out with your own natural eyelashes. Your lash technician shall  tell you exactly what type of lash extension shall best suit your lashes to avoid any harm occurring to them. You must also follow the aftercare advice given to you to ensure you don't cause any disruption to your lashes or the extensions.

The process is pain free and very relaxing however improper application by an unqualified eyelash technician can cause damage to your own lashes. Make sure you only use a certified eyelash extension specialist.

What do the Eyelash Extensions look like when applied?
With proper application meaning one synthetic eyelash is applied to one natural eyelash the look is totally natural and real. No one shall be able to tell that you are wearing extensions, they shall just think you are blessed with amazing lashes!

How do I choose a look that I want?
Eyelash extensions are available in a number of lengths and thicknesses. We consult with you first to see what type of style you are interested in and we then determine what your lashes can hold in regards to length and size. Each persons lashes will vary so we take this into account when creating your look. The overall finish is for the lashes to look glamorous but natural.

Some Eyelash Extensions have fallen out after application, is this normal?
There are 50-100 lashes applied to each eye. It is normal to experience the loss of a few during the first 24 hours whilst the adhesive is setting. Care should be taken in this period. Do not get them wet 12 hours after application.

How do I remove the Extensions?
Lash Perfect lashes can be removed at any time only by a professional or you can wait until they have all naturally fallen out. Do not pull at them as this shall result in pulling out your own natural lashes.

Can I wear mascara with my Eyelash Extensions?
Yes, even though mascara is not really needed or recommended, since the extensions actually give the illusion of wearing mascara. It must, however, only be water-based mascara not oil-based or waterproof mascara. Waterproof mascara, or any type of oil-based mascara, can dissolve the bonding agent and shorten the life of your eyelash extensions causing them to fall sooner. Care also needs to be taken when washing off the mascara. Only use a water-based eye make-up remover. See my blog post here on what mascaras are safe to use.

What eyeliners are safe to use with Eyelash Extensions?
If you want to use a liquid or gel liner just make sure it is oil free so it shall cause minimal disruption to your lash extensions. Powder or eyeshadow liners are good to use and they are very easy to remove. A company called 'La La Lashes' make a liquid liner which is an organic semi-permanent eyeliner, totally compatible with eyelash extensions due to its 100% water based formula, but there are brands out there that make oil-free liners.

Can I swim, shower, exercise after having my Extensions applied?
We recommend that you do not wash your eye area for about 12-24 hours after the initial eyelash application. After this time all is totally fine as the bonding agent shall be fully set and waterproof but special care is still required but overall maintenance is low.

Can I use Eyelash Curlers with my Eyelash Extensions?
Its not recommended to use a mechanical eyelash curler as these damage the extensions and maybe your own lashes. The extensions themselves are curled already but if you are wanting more of a curl after application then a heated eyelash curler is ok to use, just don't hold the heat on for to long at the root and use higher up the lashes. See my post on Eyecurl II here.

Can anyone have Eyelash Extensions?
Anyone can have eyelash extensions applied as long as there is a good natural lash there to glue an extension onto. HOWEVER: if you have an eye infection or have undergone a recent eye operation or cosmetic surgery it would be best to wait until the eye area is fully healed for your own safety.

Additional care information ... IMPORTANT!
  • You MUST have a good hygiene routine with your new lashes. Keeping your lash extensions clean is essential. You must clean them every 2-3 days with a non oily solution to prevent any eye infections occurring. Clean sponge applicators soaked in an eye cleanser are ideal to get into the lashes. If you choose to wear mascara (that we do not recommend) you must remove it thoroughly or bacteria shall build up and possibly cause infections. If allergic, an allergy symptom shall occur well within 48 hours of application, if this is so then advise your lash technician asap who my advise that they be removed.
  • The adhesive used in lash extensions is designed especially for this treatment, however please note the solution does not work for everyone. Some people become extremely allergic and no matter what glue is used, they may react at any given time. There is no patch test as the glue has no contact on skin.
  • Avoid oils going near the eyes, so stay away from oily make-up removers, mascaras etc and be careful with your skincare & eye creams making sure they are applied around the eye area and avoiding the lashes.
  • Do not rub your eyes.
  • Avoid eyelash curlers that clamp the lashes.
  • Avoid cotton wool on the eyes as this shall get entwined into your lash extensions and shall be very difficult to remove without disturbing your extensions! Use a cleansing cloth instead.
  • Gently groom your lashes with a lash comb daily if needed to keep them facing forward and be quick and firm when doing so.
  • Do not pull at your lashes or attempt to pull them off as this shall result in your natural lashes being pulled out too.
  • Avoid using sleeping eye-masks as they tend to rub against the lashes whilst you sleep and avoid sleeping with your eyes in the pillow.
